Ok we know Jim’s spirit jumped into Sam’s dead body. I get it no problem. However all this new season Melinda calls Sam Jim? Even in front of others? How can this be when Jim is in Sam’s body and everyone sees Sam!? Furthermore Aidens last name is same as Sam’s! So why is Melinda calling Sam Jim and especially in front of others?

I believe he’s supposed to still be Sam and more than likely it’s the fault of the writers. When a series has been on for a long time it’s hard for the writers to remember every little detail.
On the other hand, you think these shows would have people on staff that could easily pick up on inconsistencies with the script(s) and find huge errors.
I don’t see how they could forget that he’s now Sam, since that storyline was the main storyline of the show last year. It’s not like he was some throwaway character that only appeared on a few episodes.
On why Melinda may call him Jim instead of Sam:
Maybe she forgets that she should call him Sam and accidentally calls him Jim.
Plus Ghost Whisperer is known to drop some major storylines such as who Gabriel really was, the tunnels underneath, and where did Romano the guy with the black hat go?

I believe after we “jumped” 5 years into the “future” after the birth of Aiden, Sam is now going by his middle name which was suppose to be James..which is then shortened to Jim.
I personally hated the entire Jim dying and jumping into Sam’s body. I wish they had made that entire season a bad dream.

I think they were just getting rid of that story line. Just trying to get people to forget about it. I don’t think it was a fault, I think they meant to do that and hoped people wouldn’t realise.

well I think that they all are aware its sams body that jims spirit is in but jim has all his memory and wants to be called jim.. also all of his family and friends see jims face and body not sams. I’m happy the writers dropped sam cuz they made the mistake to kill jim in the first place lol

I also think they made a huge mistake with killing Jim off. I mean, even though it’s Jim’s spirit and they show Jim most of the time, I still get a little repulsed seing Sam in the mirror. I mean, I don’t think I could ever “instantly” fall in love with another man “body” even if I knew my husband’s spirit was in there. After all, we are attracted by site first and then personality/character. I don’t find Sam attractive at all. Jim on the other hand….. ;o) They should just chalk it all up to a bad dream. I would LOVE if they did that.

Hello, I love this series, I was skeptical as Delia, I love her because I remember as it was before those incidents that I change in a believer of these Paranormal phenomena. When I butt with this series I could not believe what I saw, not only a good item but I also welcome writers to do the task, but today after see season 4, I can account for large audience kills one of the protagonists, is absurd, the love of Jim and Melinda passed any border? What life and death?. But they forget something really important to follow with the line of story. I can’t remember the name of the episode in season 3 but If the plot, where Melinda connected to his father with the death of a child and be learns that his father, which was really isn’t, that the ghost that it pursues is really his father. Talk about possession of bodies and which is impossible that a soul possesses a body, only demons have that capability. Jim may not possess a body first is not a demon and second there is a soul inside that can’t move. Accident killed sam and takes his body as It is possible, sam die since there is a damage to his body, now if Jim takes the body is impossible that damage to be repaired so that the alive. When is the time of his death is the time to die, we must go, is what during throughout the series have taught us, now magically tell us that he managed to return of death? Contradicts the story and now good schema to first show as themselves to the wrong would have us forget them mistakes . A fantastic story in all aspects, perfect love a relationship wonderful and a mission of faith for a woman to share everything with whom love. Then deleted teacher blond not remember his name I loved his cynicism, sarcasm gave spicy to the show, bring, a psychologist who can hear the dead, not only when listening seems an idiot, acts as a robot and walk as if something between the legs can not drop their faces not curdled and always gotten into the relationship of Jim and Melinda, other words I don’t like his performance. Neither the death of Jim and less as the writers and actors omitted important situations, I have not started the season 5 I think that it is not the same and I would not want more disappointment.

I wish that Jim had went into the light as all the others . I know this is not popular, but they bungled it from the get go, Never have or has anyone called him Sam, and there have been many sweet kids who would have loved to stay. It made the love between the two seem like a Romeo & Juliet thing, and there are some things you do not mess with.
I think that ‘Jims’ memory returned when they had to swim under water, I cannot remember the episode, but Melinda went through the water first and then Jim decided he should go, and he lifted himself out of the water and to cut to the chase , he was Jim, with no memory of Sam at all.Eli and Delia were there.They showed him his new face and he was reborn from the water? I wish I knew which episode, because I think they were in a boat, saving someone? If anyone knows, please do tell. But, as I said, I think Jim should have went as all of Melindas ‘good’ ones do, Notice how he always see’s the light?
