well the alarm wasnt on her wrist it was actually inside her chest and would alarm a bell like sound if her heart was stressed. her official cause of death on the list of ghost whisperer characters and how they died is heart attack but in the episode they said she had a hole between the 2 chambers which in real life would make you very fragile and you would really easily get your heart going too fast which is why her parents said they home schooled her and took every precaution
