It makes no sense at all. I wish they would deal with the 'underground' spirits, that just came to a dead halt. They should have called him Sam , it is confusing and they make the viewers seem dumb. But he wasn't Melinda's brother. Her father, also Gabriel's father, wasn't Melinda's real father, he was her stepfather, she just grew up believing that he was her father, bus she found out the truth in the fianle of Season 3 when the ghost of her real father showed up to get rid of her stepfather.
